Older adult wellness programming is one of the fastest growing areas especially in aquatics, fitness, and strength training. These programs will help older adults maintain independent healthy lifestyles. Our AOA programs (age 50 & older) will help you not only physically, but emotionally and spiritually. Come visit us and join in the fun!
Functional Strength Balance & Flexibility
Strength, balance and flexibility are essential in maintaining a comfortable, independent life. This class will provide you with the tools necessary to improve your daily life in these areas including coordination, posture and range of motion.

Y Wellness Walkers
You can walk your way to fitness! The benefits of regular brisk walking include reaching or maintaining a healthy weight, strengthening your bones and reducing the risk of or managing a number of conditions, such as high blood pressure. Join us weekly for a casual, no pressure stroll. During the winter, members are invited to walk inside on the treadmills or the perimeter of the gym. As weather permits, walkers will meet in the lobby and venture onto the Erie Lackawanna Trail.
Mon/Thur 10:30-11:15am, Free for everyone. Members only allowed to use YMCA facilities.

Sports, fun and exploring new interests aren't just for the young. Along with improving health, whenever teamwork is involved, there's the added benefit of being connected to others. That's why you'll find a range of recreational activities at the Y. With something to offer everyone, there's no such thing as being too old to get in the game.
Sign your team up for this 5 on 5 officiated basketball league featuring games played with two 20 minute halves in a round robin format. Must be at least 18 years of age. Can have up to 10 on a team. Single elimination tournament will finish the season. Make your Thursday nights basketball night!

Games are always on Thursdays, 6-10:00pm. Team fee: $400.
Indoor Volleyball is a Co-Ed 18 and over volleyball league. Indoor volleyball is played on Tuesday evenings in the gymnasium. Each week teams will play 3 matches to 25 points. Indoor volleyball is a great way to stay in shape while playing with your friends. Six men and women will play at a time, with up to 8 being rostered. Sportsmanship is emphasized.
Games are always on Tuesdays, 6-10:00pm. Team fee: $270.
Sand Volleyball is a 6 on 6, co-ed, 18 and over league. Seasons are 7 weeks long, followed by playoffs with a weekly 25 point, 3 match format. It’s a fun atmosphere where friends can come together for a little fun in sand.

When kids play Y-Sports, they develop more than skills—they develop character. Instructors and coaches—often volunteers, including many parents—model fairness and hard work while emphasizing teamwork, cooperation, and developing good values in our non-competitive programs. Our volunteer coaches recognize achievements large and small and understand that winning is not just about the score. By playing sports, kids and their families feel a sense of belonging that comes from a community gathering together to cheer on their team. Everyone plays, everyone wins!
Sports of All Sorts
Do you find it tough to commit to an entire season of a particular sport, unsure if your child will love it? Sports of All Sorts is the place to be! Each week, the kids will be introduced to new sports, games and activities.

Summer sports are fun for everyone! Register for your favorite sports at Griffith, Hammond, Southlake, and Whiting branches. Weekly Sports camps for preschool, youth, and middle school run Monday-Friday beginning June 5 through August 4. Volleyball, T-Ball, Softball, Soccer, Conditioning, Running, Outdoor, Gymnastics, Football, Floor Hockey, Cheer, Boxing, Baseball are some of the camps available this summer (offerings vary by branch).
